ABOUT THIS BLOG

With a long family history that goes back many generations in this area it pains me to see the impact that government neglect is having on our area. The two major parties are simply not up to the job anymore. I can no longer sit back and watch this happen and have decided to run for the state seat of Cairns.

It is time we had a voice in parliament again, not puppets of faceless party machines from Canberra. By posting media releases on this blog the people of Cairns can determine if we have policies and concepts that they agree with.

I ask you to join me in ensuring that Cairns and Far North Queensland gets a fair go.

FURTHER BLOWS COMING FOR FNQ ECONOMY

We recently had the Babinda sugar mill close up here which has had huge impacts on jobs in the area, the future training of local apprenticeships and the impact on the township of Babinda losing such a big employer of locals.
How many more sugar jobs, farmers and local communities are going to be impacted by the latests decision by Europe to breach their WTO commitments for a second time in two years, flooding the market with their subsidised glut of sugar which will drive prices down due over supply.
Meanwhile Australia playing by the rules and depending on market price gets shafted as price plummets because we follow the rules.
Why is the European Commission not happy with destroying their own economies is now trying to do it to others like Australia?
Not good enough and where's how hopeless govt. making a stand and demanding action be taken for these breaches?
